However, humans with an ugly nature disgust him and he will not hesitate to kill anyone who dares to oppose Nazarick. Instead, he believes that some humans are good people and it is the duty of the strong to protect the weak. Unlike many other denizens in Nazarick, he does not completely despise humans or see them as inferior creatures. Like his creator, Touch Me, Sebas Tian has a great deal of personal justice. However, in the manga, his beard is longer, his shoulders are not as broad, and his face is also older. He has visible wrinkles on his hollow face, which makes him seem gentle in appearance, but his eyes are as sharp as an eagle's. Sebas' hair is entirely white, just like his immaculate beard. In his human form Sebas Tian has the appearance of an elderly butler and he is dressed gracefully in his traditional black uniform. 4.12 The Witch of the Falling Kingdom Arc.

Ainz is certainly going to have his hands full as the man of the hour. Sure, it was never like the kingdom was ever able of actually defending against Ainz and friends, but once the Empire’s latest move comes out it’ll accelerate some timelines and force some very agonizing choices.ĭoes Re-Estize try its luck in negotiations? Or does it bite the bullet and hope a preemptive attack rescues their fortunes? Plenty to play for and only so much room for manoeuvre. Cannot forget after all that Ainz technically allied with Jircniv against the Kingdom to suddenly have Ainz control both it and his own personal fiefdom gives a powerbase that Re-Estize won’t be able to pretend isn’t there. Going forward though the real fun will be in the fallout of Jircniv’s impulsive decision, because oh boy if that’s not going to yield some fun in terms of a particular kingdom and princess. Oh well, cannot complain that much considering we got a 2D animation fight and enough context beforehand all went about as well as it could’ve. Particularly when it came to explaining Ainz’s presence there in the first place. Jircniv’s absolute submission to Ainz and desperate appeal to be made vassal are case in point: it’s a major shakeup, it’s absolutely hilarious when you realize what Ainz is thinking, yet it likely could’ve been made better with some more time spent having Ainz run roughshod over the Empire’s hopes and dreams. Backstory fillers and fleshed out duels to the death (hey, it was technically death!) might not need excessive amounts of time, but slow buildup can pay dividends, especially when geared towards moments that are as significant as they are random.

While I’m not going to make excuses for my love of this series clouding all, there is no denying Overlord got the short end of the adaptation stick this week. Change for the better do be hard at times. There may not be any serious issues rearing their heads right now (comparisons to the last season are more than enough to eliminate that fear), but I guess the light novel curse is a curse for a reason. Not sure what exactly I was expecting from Overlord this week, but something a little more than what we got is probably right on the money. Well, at least it was something, right? Right.
